Summer is the perfect time to flaunt fresh and vibrant nail colors. The summer season may be a little different this year but don’t let that stop you from rocking a fresh manicure even if it’s of the at-home DIY variety. Do you love experimenting with different nail polish colors? Keep reading to find out what shades you should definitely try this summer.

Blue deserves to be on everyone’s list of nail colors to try – after all, Classic Blue is Pantone’s Color of the Year. There are so many beautiful shades of blue that you can try, such as sky blue, navy or even turquoise. NATURE REPUBLIC’s Color Waltz in #08 Blue Pop is a gorgeous shade of blue that will look good with any summer outfit. This nail polish has a strong color payoff and dries matte.

Yellow nails? Yes, please! Vibrant yellow nails can brighten up your day and perhaps your entire summer! You can find a nice and vivid shade of yellow from The Saem’s Nail Wear Summer Beach Collection called #101 Vanilla Syrup. This nail polish is long-lasting and applies so smoothly. To help it last even longer, finish your nail polish application by adding one or two layers of top coat.

Glitters will never go out of style no matter what season it is. You can wear glitter nail polish alone or use it to spice up your solid-colored polish. Simply add a few layers of your glitter nail polish of choice on top of your colored nails. If you want super fun nails for summer, go for Holika Holika’s Piece Matching Nails Summer Flake Edition. This glittery nail polish is infused with hologram flake glitters so you get both colors plus glitter in one. It’s the best of both worlds!

Dark green may not be a very vibrant shade, and it may even seem like a fall color, but this deep, rich hue is a great contrast for summer outfits like a pair of jean shorts and a plain white tee. Dark green nail polish will also stand out if you get a nice tan this summer!

If dark green isn’t really your thing but you still want to flaunt green nails this summer, try a lighter shade of green like pistachio, mint or sage green. MISSHA’s The Style Lucid Nail Polish in #GR11 is a light and refreshing nail polish color to try for summer.

Orange is a great color to add extra warmth to your hands. Try the look with 3CE’s Take A Layer Layering Nail Lacquer in the shade Soft Orange. This nail polish duo comes with a light and darker shade for you to create gradient or ombre nails.

Start by applying the lighter orange color all over your nails then paint the darker orange shade to the top bit of your nails. Always finish off with a layer of top coat so your nail polish lasts longer and you don’t waste all that effort painting your nails!

If you’ve already tried all the vibrant nail polish shades and want to take it down a notch, a nude or neutral shade is the way to go. A nude manicure is classic and a perfect nail look for everyday wear. Holika Holika’s Piece Matching Nails Lacquer in the shade #BR02 is a stunning neutral hue that looks great on all skin tones. You can rely on this nail lacquer’s quick-drying and long-lasting formula to give you well-polished nails throughout the entire summer.

If you enjoy painting your nails with these vibrant summer shades, you can try painting them on your toes too. Summer is sandal season after all, so why not flaunt a DIY pedicure?
